Musa ‚Roxa'(syn. 'Red’)

Red Fruit Banana, Dessert Banana

One of the many red skinned banana cultivars, its dwarf form 'Dwarf Red'  stays smaller and needs less space, grows at least to 6 to 8 feet tall. It is a triploid dessert banana of the group AAA and of the section Musa.

The most of the red bananas are taken notic of their good tasting fruits and this is not an exception.

This cultivar also has a red pseudotrunk. One popular small banana, the red bananas need more time to ripe than the most others. The peel should be nearly black, before the fruit is ripen enough to be eaten. It is recommend to try because of its small size under the same culturvation conditions like Musa ‚Nanica’.

I got one pup of this beautiful cultivar on 16th September 2009 from Helton Josué, best thanks to him and his wife. I planted it behind my house closed to it because of its beautiful red pseudotrunk and the red fruits out.
